VA7IHF is on the air!

This weekend was the RAC Canada Day contest and I used the call VA7IHF,
the first time it has been active. Not the greatest of propagation
particularly on the low bands but I did manage something like 340 QSOs.
The results have been sent to RAC and also posted on 3830.

All Vancouver Island members can use the call by following the link at
the bottom of the page. I’ve started a VA7IHF log so all QSOs can be
listed there and we will have a running total.

I didn’t know that Lucy was a radio amateur. Has anyone seen this cartoon before? When I saw it recently on Twitter I just had to smile because I find that calling CQ on the ham bands brings the most surprises.

VA7HV’s new SUV

Henk van Dalen VA7HV recently told me he would like a newer RAV4, a new home for his radios. I have found him an even better vehicle. Every radio a ham would possibly need. Look at it! HF, 6 meters, UHF and GPS. He could even replace the school bus he drives. The kids would love it!
