RSGB FT4 Contest – my results 👎

April 6, 2024/0 Comments/in Contesting, General Interest/by Glenn Lindsey VA7HC

I gave the RSGB FT4 Contest a try today but wasn’t successful. I don’t think conditions were ideal and although FT8 signals from the USA were abundant, FT4’s were rare.

My humble 5 watts from the QMX into the MFJ magloop on the apartment balcony wasn’t heard by many. Below is a screen capture from PSKreporter. Interesting to see my signal did reach HS0ZOY 11638 kms away in Buriram, Thailand (red arrow).

QSL Creator

April 4, 2024/0 Comments/in Contesting, General Interest/by Glenn Lindsey VA7HC

QSL Creator is a link which is an innovative way to send digital QSL cards.

After participating in a contest (or just plain DX work), you most often generate an ADIF file for uploading to LOTW. This is all fine and good but rather impersonal.

Recently I decided to try QSL Creator and used my ADIF file from the NA SSB Sprint Contest. You should have a photo for the card which should measure 1400 x 900 pixels (or thereabouts). Below is a screen capture of what the process looked like.
